April is a promise that May is bound to keep. ~Hal BorlandWhile many of our girls are at home or off in Spain, there are a handful of lucky ladies who find themselves on campus for Spring Break. I call them lucky because their activities the last week have made most of us staff wish we were students!
Since there is no school we decided to really have some fun and turn four days into adventure days. Last weekend, girls spent not one but two days up on the mountain. They played hard in the snow and said their farewells to Whitefish Mountain Resort until next year. This weekend our adventure team is planning on taking advantage of the nice weather and will be getting girls out rock-climbing and on biking expeditions.
We took a break on Easter Sunday and girls spent their afternoon in the sun searching for candy-filled eggs and making conversation. Dinner became a feast to which we invited our staff and visiting families. The best part, the girls tell me, were the lemon cupcakes baked just for them!
In between adventure days girls still had plenty of fun. Days were filled with walks on the Riverwalk, art projects turned into paint fights, scavenger hunts, and a trip to Kalispell to see Oz the Great and Powerful. Evenings included spending time together watching movies, building a campfire to share stories, and watching the sun set on the lake.
It has been an incredible week, and it is not over yet. We hope that all our students and their families spread out across the globe are having as much fun as the girls are here!
